OUR SERVICES
UTILITY INFORMATION FROM FIELD TO DELIVERABLE.
MGS provides utility locating, mapping, investigation, and records services to support planning, design, construction, and asset management.

01 — UTILITY LOCATING
MGS provides private utility locating and designation services to identify underground facilities within project areas. Field investigations utilize electromagnetic locating methods, visible utility evidence, and available utility information to help project teams better understand existing site conditions.
Capabilities: Private Utility Locating • Pre-Design Utility Designation • Paint & Flag Marking • ALTA/NSPS Survey Support • Pre-Construction Utility Locating
02 — UTILITY MAPPING
MGS transforms field information into usable project data. Utility locations and associated features can be collected, organized, and delivered in formats that support surveying, engineering, construction, planning, and asset management.
Capabilities: CAD • GIS • KMZ/KML • CSV • PDF Utility Mapping • GNSS/GPS Data Collection

03 — UTILITY INVESTIGATION
When existing utility information is incomplete, conflicting, or unclear, MGS combines field investigation, utility locating, visible evidence, and available records to develop a more complete understanding of existing infrastructure.
Capabilities: Unknown Utility Investigation • Existing Conditions • Utility Verification • Above-Ground Evidence • Utility Ownership Investigation
04 — UTILITY RECORDS RESEARCH
MGS researches and compiles available utility information to support field investigations and project planning. Records can be compared with field evidence and locating results to help identify potential facilities, ownership, and areas requiring additional investigation.
Capabilities: Utility Records • Available 811 Information • Easements • Existing Plans • Publicly Available Data • Record-to-Field Comparison

05 — UTILITY RECORDS DIGITIZATION
MGS converts legacy utility information into organized digital data. Paper maps, historical drawings, CAD files, and other utility records can be digitized into modern geospatial datasets that are easier to access, update, visualize, and use.
Capabilities: Paper Maps to GIS • CAD Conversion • Utility Inventories • Asset Mapping • Legacy Records Organization
FROM PROJECT REVIEW TO FINAL DELIVERABLE
Every project is different. Our workflow is tailored to the project scope, available information, site conditions, and the level of utility investigation required.
PROJECT REVIEW
Review project limits, objectives, required services, schedule, and requested deliverables.
01
RECORDS & RESEARCH
Compile and review available utility records, plans, mapping, and other relevant project information.
02
FIELD INVESTIGATION
Investigate existing site conditions and perform utility locating, designation, and field documentation as required.
03
DATA & MAPPING
Collect and organize field information using GNSS/GPS, CAD, and GIS workflows based on project requirements.
04
DELIVERABLES
Provide organized project information in the requested formats, including CAD, GIS, KMZ/KML, CSV, PDF mapping, or other agreed-upon deliverables.
05
ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATION CAPABILITIES
GROUND PENETRATING RADAR (GPR)
GPR services can be coordinated upon request for projects requiring additional investigation methods beyond traditional electromagnetic locating. Availability and applicability are evaluated based on project conditions and scope.
